The video, which is one in a series during a marathon of video shoots by BGC Melody for all of its artists, comes barely two months after the German-based rapper and Afrobeat singer shocked his fans by declaring himself the “Da Baddest” in another banger back in April 2020.
“Da Baddest” is already making waves in Europe and parts of Africa, also a regular on Trace Urban, and its popularity has birthed a social media challenge which has seen many fans daring to be ‘badder’ than Bah’Ndong.

STUNNING BEHIND THE SCENES FOOTAGES OF DEENAH’S “WATER” VIDEO SHOOT

Beautiful Deenah performs a distressed lady whose man has left her and their home after a fight they had. As she performs, we see her world burn as flames submerge from the walls of their house to show the hurt she feels inside. In the end, she suffocates from the smoke the flames make, and her man comes in time to save her.

"water" video shoot by Adah Akenji

The Video is directed by famed Cameroonian video director Adah Akenji and its part of a series of video shoots scheduled by BGC record label for all their artists.

“Water” would be Deenah’s second video release in 2020. Her hit single “weekend” was released on March 5th, 2020, and has been making waves on different playlists and TV stations around the world.

WHY CAMEROON BLOGGER THINKS DEENAH IS NO LONGER AN  UPCOMING ARTIST

In a latest social media buzz, Cameroon bloggers are of the opinion that Kameni, Tina, and our own princess, Deenah have graduated from the tag of “upcoming artists” to full-blown superstars.
They argue that their latest musical outings, collabos and high profile hits released lately are sufficient proofs to establish their names in the book of music achievers in the country. But this is why we think they are correct about Deenah.
DEENAH  has stood tall in all ramifications among her peers as a peerless brand of musical ingenuity.
Her dedication to the various dimensions of her craft has cleverly positioned her as an inheritor of a home-grown musical princess.
DEENAH summoned a great deal of determination and has put in a lot of hard work that has made her high esteem and sought-after entertainment act in the country at the moment.
Signed under the BGC melody since 2018, DEENAH has cultivated a global fan base that is impressed with her idiosyncratic take on Kamer music.
The BGC princess is among the few challenging the musical boundaries and pushing the limits imposed on Kamer artists at the moment.
DEENAH has released some of the most hauntingly and beautiful songs ever penned by the new generation of Kamer artists ever since the joined BGC
With a “green light”, “stuck on you” and “Deenah is served” already recognizable household hit list, the rapper, vocalist, and songwriter probably climbed on top of the music ladder with the release of her banger “weekend” two months ago?
Her latest hit song weekend is already topping the charts at home and abroad; a regular on Africa’s most-watched music channel Trace Africa and a favourite for millions of music lovers at home and abroad.

The Limbe-based artist is currently working on multiple projects and she is scheduled for a foreign trip after travel restrictions are lifted where she will work with some foreign-based artists in Senegal
The 26 years old rapper, vocalist, songwriter, and performer is unarguably one of the fastest rising young entertainers in the country and deservingly so.

Mobe's video shoot

All in all, BGC Melody is scheduled to produce up to 8 videos in June and July, including one for Jayé (BAD ENERGY) mid-June, (Deenah (PALA PALA NJANG TRAP STEP 2) and another Bah’Ndong dance tube (end of June/early July in Douala with YouTrace project video directors); and then fingers crossed with eyes on Accra by end of July where BGC’s newest female artist Yaria Neemah will be ready for the unveiling and video shoots as soon as Ghana lifts it’s very stringent anti-COVID19 lockdown rules.

She would then concluded with an appearance on Equinoxe television on Saturday where she appeared as a special guest in a youth program “youth inside before making her last stop at Mirror FM
But perhaps the highlight of her tour was with Nabil and team in Nabstar where she was surprised on set by fellow BGC artist Bah Ndong.
Bah Ndong who just released his first album stormed Sweet FM for a duo live performance with Jaye, flowing on the beats of yet-to-be-released collabo in what many have termed a coronavirus gift to fans of the artists.

The tour was a huge moment for the “Un Genre Un Genre” singer who had released the official video of her hit track “Amio” just moments before the coronavirus pandemic shut down the world sending many people into lockdown and restricted travels.
The Buea based artist has used the opportunity to talk about her latest song which is making waves on local and international playlists and networks including TRACE Africa, her label, and her rise to fame.
Jaye also used the opportunity to talk about the challenges faced by the entertainment industry in the country, her upcoming projects before advising the millions of young people who look up to her as an idol.

BGC MELODY DROPS ITS FIRST “ANONYMOUS ANGEL” COLLECTION OF SONGS FOR CHARITABLE ACTION

RELEASE – FRIDAY, 1 MAY 2020: BGC Melody, the first Cameroonian American record label with representation all over Africa, launched an album under the title “Anonymous Angel, Vol. 1” project, the first compilation of unreleased songs from some of its former and current artists. The album of 12 songs (representing the 12 months of the year) is mainly made of songs the label had no plans of releasing on their future albums, for one reason or the other.

In some cases, the artists are either no longer with BGC Melody, and in others, the artists have evolved so much in maturity, style and genre that it makes sense to release the songs as separate projects rather than on the artists’ own album projects.
The album brings together artists like Bah’Ndong, Deenah, Jayé, Elie Solo and LaLa, with productions by Marc Eff, Sango Edi LeDrae and the young Domiguez Jnr, an in-house Artistic Director and beatmaker.

“We’re setting up the Anonymous Angel project right now in order to be able to publish songs of great quality which we spent a lot of money producing but went nowhere”, record label owner and CEO Don Julio Bats explained. “Other than the artists’ royalties that will always be theirs and paid in the future, we intend to use all proceeds from the Anonymous Angel projects as a core tool of community involvement within our own corporate social responsibility model and charitable strategy. All the monies from sales and streaming of Anonymous Angel projects will be donated to various causes dear to BGC and to each of our individual artists. Our message to our community and the world at large is that we don’t need to wait until we all become very rich in order to think about helping others, especially in these times of COVID19”.

The album will be available on all major online platforms on the 15th of May after the initial exclusive Boomplay period, as Boomplay has partnered with BGC Melody Management to put in place a special two-week plan for promotion of the album to audiences in Africa and Asia, where people who download the app can purchase or stream for free by using mobile money accounts.
BGC Melody is a record label that prides itself in its model of Unity through Equality and Diversity, and social responsibility is a core aspect of BGC corporate culture.

BGC MELODY DROPS ITS FIRST “ANONYMOUS ANGEL” COLLECTION OF SONGS FOR CHARITABLE ACTION

It has been arguably the most anticipated music video in the country’s recent memory. Jaye’s release of her latest single “Amio” had kept the entire nation talking and music critics thinking about the future of the country’s music, as the Buea-based artist stormed social media with her explicit music cover to announce her entrancing piece.
https://youtu.be/2Df6nXwzU_c

Amio, a Cameroonian Romeo and Juliet love story, was the main topic on social media bubbles around the country even as it topped charts on BoomPlay and continues to make waves on radios around the country. While some critics focused on her explicit cover photos and make it their talking point, real lovers of music focused on her unique vocal abilities and the melody in her music.

In the heavily anticipated video directed by Mr. Adrenaline, Jaye goes back to the roots of Cameroonian modern music, blending images of the 80s with modern-day reality while punctuating the scintillating scenes with some cherished Kizomba dance steps to produce what would strongly contest for a favorite video of the year. This video will get anyone off their feet to the dance floor, in due respect to the rhythm of good music.

Da Baddest| BGC Melody

Michael Jackson famously asked the existentialist question: “Who’s Bad”? And in almost the same lyrical breath, he answered his highly rhetorical question with the famous phrase, “I’m Bad… I’m Bad… You know it!”

Bah’Ndong took the “badness” further. He didn’t even care to ask “Who’s badder than… we dare not say?” He just went ahead and proclaimed himself “Da Baddest”!

Bah’Ndong is the first artist, in a very long time, anywhere in the world to have requested and obtained the corporate support of his record label to drop a new song on a Sunday – an Easter Sunday! Bah’Ndong’s “Da Baddest” dropping on April 12th, his birthday, was a move that could be successfully made only by an artist with the core self-confidence and bravado worthy of a “badder than bad” dude… hence he’s “Da Baddest” for sure (no disrespect to the Great Michael Jackson).

The song “Da Baddest” is a torrid hot #Afrofusion R&B hit for all hardcore lovers out there. #DaBaddest is a cerebral ballad reminiscent of Burna Boy at his best; an ode to every woman who makes her man feel special.

The song was produced by Sango Edi for #BGC Melody and the video directed by Michael Lebancs in Sweden. It is a quintessential Afrofusion track that brings together Afrobeat, Dancehall and R&B topped by a smooth vocal performance by the rapper turned love singer songwriter Bah’Ndong.

Bah’Ndong is the “elder” artist among the 6 currently signed to BGC Melody. Born and raised in Yaoundé, Cameroon, he’s been living in Germany for the past decade but returns to his homeland frequently for inspiration and promotion. “Da Baddest” is a sneak preview of his upcoming third album of the Rebelations series.
